REC CHEER

PERFORMANCE REC vs GAME DAY REC

  • Cheer America offers two different types of Rec Cheer routines: PERFORMANCE REC and GAME DAY REC.
  • Performance Rec teams will be split into Affiliated & NonAffiliated divisions. Learn more about the differences below!

PERFORMANCE REC

  • Max Routine Length- 2:30 minutes, No Minimum
  • Routines Requirements: Routines may be all music or a combination of music and cheer.
  • Scoring and Rules- These skill based divisions will follow TheONE Scoring and USASF Rules (same as the 24-25 season) Exception – Level 4 – Fulls are allowed in running tumbling only and will be counted toward the running tumbling difficulty and technique scores.
  • *Teams will be split into Affiliated, and Non-Affiliated divisions.

GAME DAY REC

  • Max Routine Length- 3:00 minutes, No Minimum
  • Routine Requirements: Routines will be composed of Band Chant, Offense or Defense Chant, Crowd Involvement Cheer and Fight Song
  • Scoring and Rules- This traditional crowd leading division will follow UIL/NFHS Scoring and Rules. Routines should include (but are not limited to) signs, poms, flags and megaphones.

AFFILIATED REC: Teams must have an affiliation with or be governed by an organization such as Pop Warner, City Parks and Recreation Dept., YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs or other programs that are community based and not affiliated with All Star cheer. Team(s) must cheer for a sport during the 2025-2026 cheer season.

NON-AFFILIATED REC: Teams are part of an all-star gym or all star program.

DIVISIONS & SCORING INFO

  • All Cheer America Events will be held on the spring floor unless otherwise noted. If you are looking for a Junior High Club Crowd Leading Division please see school divisions.
